About Me

I'm a self-taught web developer, specialising in WordPress theme development. In my free time I enjoy learning about and using other web-related tools, most recently Vue.js. I love turning ideas into something that other people can interact with and benefit from, and I'm always looking for different ways in which I am able to do that.

Technology is something that I've always been very passionate about, and the majority of news I tend to read is about current trends in the tech world. I've been creating and putting things together since I can remember; from LEGO and models to computers and websites.

Though I am quite capable working on a project alone, I enjoy collaborating with others, whether that means brain-storming ideas or coming up with design concepts, or working with another developer using version control.

I have a Bachelor of Science with a double major in psychology from the University of Western Australia. I had an interest in User Experience before realising my true passion of actually making things by coding. UX is still very much a part of my work though, as it has to be considered for just about every decision that gets made.

I am always keen to discuss working with like-minded individuals, and would love to hear from anyone interested in collaborating with me on a job or project. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.

Skills

Some Fun (Rather Old) Projects

Minesweeper

I spent many (arguably sad) hours playing the Minesweeper that came with Windows XP. This Javascript version of the game features 3 difficulty settings (hard takes a while), a mine count tracker, and a timer to let you know how slow you are. Right click to place a flag over a suspected mine's tile.

Snake

Classic snake, brought back to life with Javascript. As well as a counter that keeps track of how much food your snake has nommed, you can hold down an arrow key to increase the snake speed, and pressing the opposite key to the direction you are moving in will pause the snake.

Noughts and Crosses

Your typical noughts and crosses game. It was the first game that I made with Javascript, and it features an AI oponent in single player mode who mostly understands the rules of the game, and a 2 player mode which lets you play with yourself.
